The GN4800 is a brand new concept for converging desk and IP telephony with audio applications such as streaming music. It provides users with a smooth transition to the new way of communication. The real advantage of using the GN 4800 is that it gives seamless switching between traditional telephony, IP telephony and audio applications (using a PC) i.e. one headset for all purposes. If users are using a headset for listening to music on their PC, the GN4800 will automatically switch to telephone mode if there is an incoming call on their desk phone. They still have to actively answer the call, but this waythey won’t miss any calls.
